HORIZON
Petra Hrašćanec (HR) / Saša Božić (HR) / Luka Švajda (HR) / Hahn Rowe (US)
Concert
Duration: 50 min
HORIZON explores myths and rituals associated with the desert, phenomena and relationships that evaporate, decay and disappear. It questions the ways of being in spite of the boundaries of our flesh and the environment that surrounds us. In that desert we are together, against; sensing the new, touching, longing and changing. Horizon offers visions, mirages, reflections and traces all for the purpose of creating a new ecology of being. An intriguing and dark piece.

PETRA HRAŠCANEC
Petra Hrašćanec is active as a dancer, choreographer and pedagogue based in Zagreb. The main point of her interest and education is contemporary dance whereas her works are characterized by a specific use of a host of different media to investigate the body and corporeality. From 2008 till 2020, Hrašćanec is one of the art directors of the MONOPLAY contemporary dance festival presenting solo forms by renowned European artists as well as creations by unknown young artists. Since 2013, Hrašćanec is a lecturer in the program for contemporary dance at the Dance Department of the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb, Croatia. Since 2012, alongside choreographer and director Ksenija Zec, as an art director Hraščanec runs the artistic organization 21:21.

SAŠA BOŽIC
Saša Božić is a Croatian theatre director and dramaturge present in the field of European contemporary dance. His works rarely fit neatly into the category of choreography or directing. His distinctive combination of movement materials, visual imagery and texts follow the transformations between his multidisciplinary roles as a choreographer, director, and dramaturge. Since it was established in 2008, Božić is the artistic director of de facto, an artsic organisation based in dance and theatre. Acting as a platform for development of their respective works, de facto engages in collaborating and co-producing the works of international artists who share similar interests in the field of performing arts – working on a thin line between theatre, dance and performance.
